With the JW Board S30, the Korean manufacturer Jetwake has just presented its 2nd generation of jetboards. The S30 is smaller and more agile than its predecessor.
In 2019, Jet Wake Co., Ltd. from Korea launched the Jetwake B200 electric surfboard and we had the opportunity to ride it in 2019. At this time there were still some technical problems, such as dropouts with the remote control.
The board is designed to be sportier overall and is very similar to the Jetsurf Electric or the Ewave Jetboards. Not only does it have a similar throttle with the same safety mechanism and board shape, but also the accessories such as the tube are almost identical.
As with Radinn, Lampuga or the eFoil, Jetwake relies on a modular structure so that in the event of a support case, the entire board does not have to be sent in, but only the battery, the board or the jet drive.
The JW Board S30 has the dimensions 170 x 60 x 18.5 cm and should reach a top speed of up to 40 km/h. Sometimes you even read 50 km/h on the website. This probably relies very much on the weight of the rider and the conditions. With a charging time of 2.5 hours, the range is supposed to be 30 minutes. The board weighs 17 kg and the battery 18 kg, which adds up to a total weight of 35 kg.
The price is about 6,850 EUR plus VAT and shipping. Shipping from Korea might be expensive, but that is still far below the prices of Jetsurf. However, it is not a carbon fiber board but a polyethylene (PE) hull. It is questionable whether Jetwake can offer a similar quality. We look forward to our future test.
It seems that the Jetwake B200 is still in the portfolio as it is likely better suited for beginners. We contacted Jetwake for more information on availability, technical details, etc. So far there is still not much info on the company website at jetwake.co.kr. And if so, then in Korean 😉
We will post further pictures and updates in our Jetwake Forum.
