The Audi Competition eFoil by Aerofoils was already presented as a prototype at boot 2023 and is now coming to the Cannes Yachting Festival.
As of now, the Audi e-tron foil Competition is available for purchase from us! The innovations include:
- 73 liter volume (Adventure 103l, Performance 83l)
- New grippy deckpad
- Optional footstraps
- 10-20 percent higher performance
- Carbon camouflage design
The Audi Competition eFoil is now available for test rides at our Berlin shop. At the Cannes Yachting Festival we recorded the following video for you:
So far, the Audi eFoil from Aerofoils was available in two sizes. One is the Adventure model with 103 liters in the colors White Sand glossy as well as Midnight Blue matt. And on the other hand the smaller Performance model with 83 liters in Midnight Blue glossy.
The prototype of the Audi Competition eFoil was unveiled in January 2023. With 73 liters, an even more aggressive board from Aerofoils. For the E-SURFER Youtube channel we recorded the following video for you at that time:
While the Audi e-tron foil Competition prototype was still shown in a light camouflage design, the production model will be launched in a dark design with green stripes. The design is similar to that of the previous Audi e-tron foil boards. A teaser image can be seen at the top.
Audi Competition eFoil
What is known so far about the Audi Competition eFoil? It will be the smallest eFoil currently available from Aerofoils. At under 70 liters, it's close to the Fliteboard Pro and the Lift Foils Sport.
As the technical manager Christian Rössler describes in the video, the shape was adjusted to carve better. Also, the volume in the middle was increased and the rocker was raised to cut well through the waves.
Last but not least, the board has been adjusted from the bottom to reduce drag when touching down. According to Chris, the eFoil is designed for the ambitious rider.
We are aware of more news, however we are not allowed to reveal this information before the official product launch at the Cannes Yachting Festival. This starts on September 12 and of course the E-SURFER team will already be there from September 9. Officially announced so far is only a new drive with more power.
At the boot in Düsseldorf, the maximum rider weight was still given as 85 kg. With a newer, more powerful drive, the maximum rider weight is likely to increase. In two weeks, we will know 😉

Audi eFoil models
The Adventure Model with 103 liters volume is the allrounder among the Aerofoils models. The volume corresponds to the all-rounder models Fliteboard Standard and the Lift Foils Cruiser (also called 5'4). This is the best selling model to date.
The smaller Performance model with 83 liters is aimed at light (under 80 kg) as well as sporty riders. The latter have already been able to experiment with new, smaller wings such as the Freeride 1100 and Freerace 900 since 2023. Further wings have been announced.
The team from Bavaria is now going one step further with the Audi Competition eFoil. With 73 liters (more on the product launch in Cannes), it is also intended to appeal to very radical riders.
Test the Audi Competition eFoil
At the Cannes Yachting Festival there will also be the opportunity to test the Audi e-tron foil Competition. We are already looking forward to that. Of course, you will also be able to try out the board at the E-SURFER stations in the future.
About Aerofoils
Aerofoils GmbH develops and markets - as a spin-off of Audi AG - the Audi e-tron foil. An eFoil that floats above the water. Audi's flying surfboard was the world's first jet-powered eFoil. It came onto the market in 2022.
Founders Christian Rößler and Franz Hofmann have been developing an electric hydrofoil since 2017. While Christian brought a technical background in aerodynamics, Franz, a kitesurfer, has been an engineer at Audi AG since 2016 and worked on alternative propulsion systems.
As an Audi employee, Franz was able to convince the marketing team to present the first prototypes under Audi e-tron brand at car shows. Today, Audi AG is an investor of Aerofoils GmbH and supports with know how and technologies.
