SiFly is a Bulgarian eFoil manufacturer in the lower price segment that made its debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival in 2022.
Of course, we were there live at the time and took a close look at the eFoils from SiFly (pronounced like the English SeaFly).
In the first year (2023), three fiberglass models were launched:
With all eFoils with a volume of over 100 liters, the focus was obviously on beginners. That's why there was a short 55 cm mast in addition to the standard 75 cm mast in the program. The wings were also designed for beginners, with 1,900 and 1,300 square centimeters. So good for schools.
SiFly produces the batteries in-house, which is quite unusual. At least the premium eFoil brands have the batteries manufactured by battery specialists. But to produce such affordable eFoils, you have to be creative and save costs. With a charging time of 2.5 hours, the range should be up to 120 minutes.
Like Waydoo, SiFly also offers an EPP variant (a board made of a hard foam). Unfortunately, these boards with an aluminum frame tend to absorb water. This makes the board unnecessarily heavy.

We were immediately impressed by the bright colors of the first generation at the trade show, and the large 170-liter board looked like an interesting alternative for very heavy riders and for schools.
We then also had two SiFly eFoils in use at our eFoil school on Lake Garda in the summer of 2023. Unfortunately, they failed too often, so we parted ways with them.
Many details of the SiFly boards looked familiar. They probably liked to “draw inspiration” from other brands. You can call that “smart” or “brash”, but since the SiFly team also had their own innovations, they had a right to exist.
At our next meeting at the boot 2024 trade fair, we addressed the problems with CEO Alexander, who spoke openly about them and assured us that they should now be resolved. Nevertheless, we have decided not to include the eFoils from SiFly in our program yet.
In general, we still rely on premium eFoils from various brands. They are not always cheap, but in our opinion, they are worth the price. Good materials, reliable technology, a pleasant driving experience and professional support simply have their price. But even premium manufacturers now have entry-level boards starting at 8,000 EUR. For example, the Flite Air.
Prices for SiFly range from €6,000 to €10,000.
We will continue to monitor SiFly and test the boards. Maybe one day we'll be convinced 😉
The SiFly eFoils cost between 6,000 and 10,000 EUR including 19% VAT, depending on the model and features.
The SiFly can reach speeds of up to 45 km/h and more. However, special wings are needed for this. The normal cruising speed is between 20 and 25 km/h.
According to the manufacturer, between 60 and 120 minutes depending on the battery size. The rider's weight and speed also affect the range.

The 170-liter board is designed for riders up to 150 kg. However, you have to be very talented, because the engine is pushed to its limits. Up to 120 kg, it should be no problem.
The Bulgarian manufacturer produces almost everything itself. Even the battery. In addition, the low-priced models rely on cheaper materials.
