Jetsurf is a Czech manufacturer of motorized surfboards. The gasoline-powered jetboards from Jetsurf have been market leaders in their class for years.
Although the team around founder Martin Sula has also launched an electric version on the market with the Jetsurf Electric, the focus is still on the combustion engines.
However, due to noise and exhaust fumes, these gasoline-powered jet boards are being pushed off the water more and more. All background information about these boards can be found in our blog article Jetsuf - The Inventors of Jetsurfing?
The Jetsurf models range between 10,000 and 17,000 EUR incl. VAT. The electric version is in the upper segment.
Basically yes. Jetsurf boards are classified in Germany by the Wasserstraßenschifffahrtsamt (WSA) as a water motorcycle (jet ski) and must carry a license plate as soon as they have more than 2.21 kW (3 hp) of power. Other rules may apply to local waters. For example, Jetboards are not allowed on Bavarian lakes and Lake Constance. In Austria the rules are not clear and in Switzerland motorized surfboards are not allowed. You can find out more in our article Legal situation around eFoils and Jetboards.
The Jetsurf models can reach speeds of 40 to 60 km/h.
