On June 13 and 14, 2026, the first official eFoil race in Germany will take place at the Olympic Rowing Stadium in Munich: the SFT E-Foil & Pump Foil World Cup Munich 2026 — part of the Munich Water Days — featuring €10,000 in prize money for eFoil racing, an international field of competitors, and free admission for all spectators.

When and where will the eFoil World Cup Munich 2026 take place?

The SFT E-Foil & Pump Foil World Cup Munich 2026 will take place on June 13 and 14, 2026, at the Olympic Rowing Stadium in Munich—the historic venue of the 1972 Olympic Games.

The event is part of the Munich Water Days 2026, a festival weekend dedicated to electric water sports. With its calm inland waters, the Rowing Stadium offers ideal conditions for eFoil racing: no waves, perfect visibility from the shore, and no boat traffic. Spectators can watch the race directly from the shore—free of charge and without registration.

Why Munich? A Milestone for eFoils in Germany

The fact that this World Cup is taking place in Munich is no coincidence - it is the result of intensive preparatory work. On March 2, 2026, the organizing committee - comprising several associations and EONEER - received official approval for the event to be held on Bavarian waters. The Bavarian State Ministry of the Environment and Consumer Protection, the Government of Upper Bavaria, the Munich District Office, the Munich Water Management Office, and the Munich Building Department were all involved.

According to E-SURFER, this approval is a real breakthrough: For the first time, eFoils and electric water sports equipment are officially permitted on Bavarian waters for a competition. The event is explicitly considered a pilot project - with the goal of paving the way for further eFoil events in Germany.

E-SURFER founder Andreas Lakeberg explains: “This approval shows that eFoils have arrived in Germany. Anyone who is there in Munich now is witnessing history - the first eFoil World Cup with an international field on German soil.”

What can spectators expect at the first eFoil race in Germany?

Admission is free - the event is open to the public. On both days, visitors can expect world-class eFoil racing at the Olympic Rowing Stadium, as well as a wide-ranging supporting program: food trucks, an exhibitor village featuring leading eFoil brands, a flea market, and picnic areas right on the water. Several brands will be on site to support their team riders in the competition.

According to E-SURFER, the Munich Water Days World Cup will be the biggest eFoil spectacle in Germany to date: “We expect an international field of competitors, manufacturer teams, and a festival atmosphere that makes eFoiling accessible to a broad audience - not just insiders.”

What disciplines and categories are featured at the SFT World Cup Munich?

E-Foil Racing is the main attraction: riders from around the world will compete against each other on their eFoils and battle for €10,000 in prize money. The format combines speed, technique, and tactics in a confined space - ideal for watching right from the shore.

Pump Foil is the second discipline with €5,000 in prize money. In Pump Foil, athletes ride without a motor - they generate lift solely through muscle power. A highly athletic addition for anyone who wants to understand foiling beyond the motor.
