What does an eFoil cost?

High-quality eFoils cost between approx. 8,000 and 23,000 euros incl. 19% VAT. You should plan on spending around 15,000 euros on a well-equipped board.

Where is it allowed to eFoil?

In principle, everywhere where you are allowed to drive electric boats. eFoils have to be registered as small vehicles and have to carry a license plate.

What is an eFoil?

An electric hydrofoil or eFoil is a surfboard with an electric motor. A mast with an underwater wing is attached under the board so that the eFoils float up to 80 cm above the water.

What is eFoiling?

eFoiling is surfing with electric hydrofoils also called eFoils. Surfboards with electric motors that float up to 80 cm above the water.

How to eFoil?

What is this floating or flying surfboard called?

It is called electric hydrofoil surfboard or eFoil for short when it is powered by a motor. Without a motor it is called a Hydrofoil Surfboard.

How does an eFoil work?

An electric Hydrofoil is a surfboard with a battery compartment in which the replaceable lithium ion battery is stored. Underneath the surfboard is a 75 cm long mast on which the motor and an underwater wing are mounted. This wing allows the eFoil to take off. Acceleration is done with a radio remote control in the hand. Direction and altitude are controlled by weight shift.

What is the difference between a hydrofoil and an eFoil?

A hydrofoil (foil for short) is a surfboard without a motor. An eFoil (electric hydrofoil) has an electric motor and propels itself independently.

How fast can an eFoil go?

eFoils can reach speeds of up to over 50 km/h. However, this requires special race wings. The normal cruising speed is around 25 km/h.

Why is an eFoil so expensive?

An eFoil requires high-performance batteries and sophisticated electronics. These must be protected against salt water. In addition, very expensive materials are used to keep the weight low.

How much horsepower does an eFoil have?

An eFoil has a power output of approx. 5 kW. This corresponds to 6.8 hp.

How long does an eFoil battery last?

Between 30 and 120 minutes, depending on the size of the battery. The weight of the driver and the speed also affect the range.

What water depth does an eFoil require?
