FAQ
ANSWER TO
YOUR QUESTIONS

How much does a jet board cost?

High quality jetboards start at about 13,000 EUR. There are cheaper suppliers, but so far we can only advise against them.

How does a Jet board work?

A jetboard is a surfboard with a lithium ion battery. Under the surfboard is a jet drive. Acceleration is done with a radio remote control in the hand. The direction of travel is controlled by shifting weight.

What do you call surfboards with a motor?

A surfboard with a motor is called a jet board. Boards that float above the water surface are called eFoils.

How much does a Lampuga board cost?

The Lampuga Jetboard costs 13.679 EUR incl. 19% VAT.

Where to buy a Jetboard?

E-SURFER has been dealing with jetboards since 2017 and is one of the biggest dealers in Europe.

How much is a Radinn jet board?

Depending on the model, Radinn jetboards cost between 12,000 and 18,000 EUR including 19% VAT. More details in our shop.

How do I find the right jetboard for me?

The E-Surfer team has been working intensively with jetboards since 2017. Ideally you make an appointment in one of our stores or call our hotline. Our jetboard comparison is also helpful.

Can I test ride the Jetboard?

Yes. We offer Jetboard test rides in our stores and test centers.

Are Jet boards allowed?

Basically yes. Jetboards are classified in Germany by the Wasserstraßenschifffahrtsamt (WSA) as water motorcycles (jet skis) and must carry a license plate as soon as they have more than 2.21 kW (3 hp) of power. Other rules may apply to local waters. For example, eSurfboards are not allowed on Bavarian lakes and Lake Constance. In Austria the rules are not clear and in Switzerland motorized surfboards are not allowed. You can find out more in our article Legal situation around eFoils and Jetboards.

Where can I register my jetboard?

Jetboards with a power of 2.21 kW (3HP) or more must be registered as water motorcycles (jet skis) and carry a license plate. The registration takes place e.g. at a waterway shipping office (WSA).

Do I need a driving license for a jetboard?

That depends on the jetboard. Jetboards are licensed as recreational craft and thus persons over 16 years of age may operate them without a license, provided the power is less than 15 hp (11.03 kW). If a jetboard has a higher power, then a sport boat license is required. However, most of our jetboards are under 11 kW.

How much does an electric surfboard cost?

High quality electric surfboards (Jetboards and eFoils) start at about 13.000 EUR. There are cheaper suppliers, but so far we can only advise against them.

Which jetboard is the best?

That depends on the weight and skill of the rider as well as the area. You can find out more about this in our jetboard comparison or by calling our hotline.
