ePropulstion Innovation Ltd. from Hong Kong develops the ePropulsion Lagoon electric SUP conversion kit which you can connect to your existing SUP surfboard and convert it to an electric paddle board.
Their two standard adapters should fit to the majority of Stand Up Paddle Boards out there. If you don’t have an SUP board yet you can also get an inflatable SUP surfboard directly from ePropulsion or Peter take a solution such as Sipaboards. The board sells for 749 USD excluding VAT and shipping and the ePropulsion Lagoon electric conversion kit for 799 USD. The conversion kit can not only be connected to SUP’s, it fits to Kayaks and Canoes as well.
The 300wh lithium-ion battery supports a ride of about 1 hour at 5.3 mph (8.5 km/h) and just weights 2.5 kg (5.5 lbs). The speed might depend on the weight of the rider and conditions such like wind and waves. The battery charges in 3 hours and the range is up to 5.6 miles (9 km) at full speed. At 3.1 mph (5 km/h) the battery of the electric paddle board lasts up to 9 hours.
The wireless remote controller can be connected to the paddle and has a slider that you can step-less control the speed. It has also an on/off button which can be used for emergency stops. Next to the 2.5 kg (5.5 lbs) for the battery pack of the ePropulsion Lagoon you have a weight of 1.5 kg (3.3 lbs) for the propeller motor, which makes it 8.1 lbs (4 kg) in total. The battery, btw, is unsinkable and floats on the water in case it falls from the board. It also has LED’s to show you how much power you have left.
The dimensions of the battery pack are 216mm×178mm×100mm (8.5inch×7inch×3.94inch) and the battery is good for up to 500 charging cycles. You can compare the ePropulsion Lagoon electric paddle board with other E-SUP’s and conversion kits in our Electric SUP comparison.
